Covering your motorcycle seat – it's that easy

Like many parts of a motorcycle, the seat is also subject to particularly high loads. Getting on and off the bike can quickly leave marks, as can constant friction while riding. A seat can quickly look rather unsightly. To fix such blemishes, you can simply re-cover your seat with a motorcycle seat cover from Tourtecs. We have the right products for this in our online shop. Our seat covers are usually made of imitation leather and are suitable for the seats of motorcycles, scooters and quads. We select our products with the highest quality in mind. That is why our universal motorcycle seat covers are extremely durable, UV-resistant and completely weatherproof.

To fit a motorcycle seat cover, you need a little manual dexterity. Depending on whether you also want to replace the upholstery at the same time, you will of course also need new upholstery material. For universal parts, the original cover is placed on the new universal cover and cut to size with a few centimetres of space all around. This of course means that the old cover has to come off first. To do this, the seat is removed and the clips holding the old cover are levered out. After the new motorcycle seat cover has been cut to size, it is then aligned on the bench, folded over and fixed to the front of the bench with a standard stapler. To ensure that the cover fits properly, it is recommended that you heat it with a hair dryer, for example, carefully pull the warm material smooth and also fix it to the back of the bench. If the cover is still warm, you can continue, otherwise you should briefly heat it up again with a hair dryer or similar. Then pull it over the lowest point of the seat and make sure that it protrudes evenly on both sides. Pull the material over the edges to fix it.

Tip: Always heat the material over a large area and staple it in place immediately. Heating the material causes the motorcycle seat cover to expand. After cooling, the material contracts again and becomes nice and smooth. This helps to reduce wrinkles, especially in curves and corners.

Motorcycle seat conversions: New cushions for your motorcycle

Many motorcyclists replace their original seat with a new one after a few years. MOTEA has a different solution for you. We can convert your existing seat for you, whether you just don't like the look of the outer material or want to reupholster the entire seat. We will customise the seat conversion to your needs and preferences. You can choose from a range of different shapes and colours for your seat cover, as well as the optional installation of a lumbar support or a motorcycle gel pad. We can only recommend the latter, as the gel pads take the pressure off the buttocks and distribute the body weight evenly over the motorcycle seat. Signs of fatigue are significantly reduced by the seat conversion.
