How do I attach a top case to my motorbike?
The attachment of our top cases is just as individual as your bike. We have a wide range of different top cases in our assortment that usually fit almost every motorbike. Depending on the motorbike on which it is to be mounted, different mounting points are used. We usually offer a package consisting of a topcase and a luggage rack. Simply enter your motorbike model in our Bike Finder and the matching products for your bike will be displayed. Alternatively, you can find luggage racks separately in our shop category Rack. You can attach the rack to your motorbike in just a few simple steps. Then simply attach the top case in the designated position on the luggage rack. If you purchase a set of top case and racks, all the necessary parts (e.g. screws and washers) are included.

Does the topcase fit on my motorbike model?
Many of our motorbike topcases come with a universal mounting plate/universal topcase carrier. This can be adapted to fit almost any motorbike. Since not all products in our online shop come with a mounting kit and a carrier, you should read the description carefully and check the dimensions given.
Do the driving dynamics change with a top box?
Yes, any weight and thus also a top case changes the centre of gravity and the driving dynamics of a motorcycle. It is important to distribute the weight evenly on the motorcycle and not to exceed the permissible total mass. To do this, you should centre your top case exactly and also pay attention to a few things when packing. For example, only light objects should be placed on the rear to avoid handlebar flutter and to maintain the stability of the motorcycle. Adjust your driving style to the changed conditions and be aware of the different braking and driving behaviour of your motorcycle. Drive carefully, especially in the rain or strong winds, because the surface area exposed to the wind is increased by the case.
What should be considered when riding a motorbike with a topcase?
The correct attachment of a motorbike topcase is particularly important to avoid accidents. When mounting, make sure that all screws are tightened. You should also check the attachment at regular intervals. The Bagtecs brand, for example, recommends checking it every 200 kilometres. When mounting, you should also make sure that the case does not come into contact with hot or moving parts on the motorcycle. In addition, you should adjust the tyre pressure and the shock absorbers to the additional weight of the luggage to avoid unpleasant surprises while driving.
When mounting a topcase, the maximum permissible speed also changes. For example, for Bagtecs topcases the maximum speed is 130 km/h.
Why do many of our topcases also have a lock at the bottom?
Safety is the be-all and end-all on the road. And that's exactly how we handle our topcases. Your safety and that of your luggage is our top priority. Both the contents of your case and the case itself are protected against theft by our locks on the topcase.
What are the advantages of a motorcycle topcase?
The topcase is the best-known and most popular luggage solution on the road. No wonder, because the generous storage space in combination with maximum security are great advantages compared to other luggage options. The robust material and the integrated locks ensure maximum security and many of our models are waterproof and dustproof. This way you can optimally protect your luggage.
In our online shop, you will find a wide range of top cases that can accommodate at least a full-face helmet. For this, a top case should have a volume of at least 30 litres. 30 litres is too much for your luggage? No problem, because in our shop you will also find smaller top cases, for example with 22 litres. Or is the volume of your suitcase still too small? That's not a problem either! We offer top cases with a volume of 22 to 85 litres. If that's still not enough storage space for you, we also offer both additional bags that you can attach to your top case and entire luggage systems with side cases.
Motorcycle top cases are the ideal travel companion, not only because of their large storage space, but also because many cases can be used as a backrest for the pillion passenger.
