Is a motorbike handlebar subject to registration?

New motorbike handlebars must be registered. This is done with an ABE or a parts certificate. You should be able to present an expert opinion, especially for larger and more complex conversions. Otherwise, your machine will not be authorised for road traffic. Please note that the maximum handle height is 500 mm above the seat.

It is important that the steering works properly after a conversion. This means that the handlebars must move freely and must not pinch.
